If the thesis in my book The Supernatural Worldview holds, then one would expect to see a steady rise in cases of demonic crime. Recently a local newspaper blogged concerning satanic murderer John Alexander Lawson who assumed the name of the Babylonian demon Pazuzu:
All sources interviewed for this story, people who knew Lawson as Pazuzu, said that they were terrified of him. His completely fake narrative where he tried to paint himself as a combination of Charles Manson, Anton LeVay, and Alistair Crowley, and descriptions of animal and human sacrifice spooked some, while his teeth (reported to have been filed to sharp points with a Dremel tool) filled others with horror. According to one source Lawson’s house was filthy and adorned with “Hot Topic Satan stuff” like mall-rat incense burners and statues of demons. “There was something about him that just made me feel terrible,” stated one source who said they had purchased drugs from Lawson several years ago. “It was just, like… I don’t know. Just his presence made me feel uneasy.” (Camel City Dispatch)

When I started this book, the rise in demonic activity was a speculation. Today, it’s a certainty. On February 16, 2014, the Associated Press reported, “Pa. woman admits Craigslist killing, 22 other satanic murders.”[i] New cases like that are added to my list daily, it is unprecedented. This paragraph’s last endnote will provide links to a multitude of news stories supporting the idea that demons are increasingly active. Based on my volunteer work, recent events, and the available media data, I think one can generalize that such demonization is increasing worldwide. I am not saying it is valid to make scientific sociological assertions from anecdotal accounts, but when I encounter so many people saying the same sorts of things, I feel confident that this sort of testimony is characteristic. Russ Dizdar, author of The Black Awakening,[iii] is a pastor who specializes in the occult. I emailed Russ for his opinion on recent events and he replied:
Yes I believe the supernatural…especially the dark side of it has ramped up in a massive way over the last 35 years…and I do believe what we have seen and researched and heard in the last three decades is merely a scratch of what’s to come. I say this on these levels:

- The exponential growth of cults and sects (like Mormonism’s 14 million, Scientology, Moonies etc.)
- The volumes of books from the New Age to very deep, dark-side works read by hundreds of millions.
- The global gatherings in 2012 continue…convergences and rituals continue.
- The reopening of ancient ritual sites, nephilim sites worldwide.
Cris, ultimately it’s the biblical prophecy that unveils the massive ramping up to the point of a worldwide quest that infects politics, economics, and the military (Revelation 12 explains it is the dragon who seeks to lead the world world astray). Biblical prophecy gives us the heads up and the cutting edge to know what the enemy is bringing. Bizzare stuff, add this to ISIS in the Middle East and the recent lone wolf attacks in Canada, NY and Jerusalem, and things definately seem to be ramping up for something evil of biblical proportions. Like we’re told; when he knows his time is short, he kick things into high gear (Rev 12:12).
I’ve come to an awareness that deliverance (casting out demons) is not a spiritual gift that a follower of Christ may or may not have, it is a sign that follows those who believe. There may be more in-depth callings, but every Christian of every station must be instructed that the power and authority of the name of Jesus can and MUST be appropriated by every one of us.
Lord help us and teach Your people through the Holy Spirit!

I am familiar with Chuck’s position on the long ending of Mark but disagree for many reasons. It is simply a historical fact that it is not found in the older sources and the early church fathers were unaware of it. Thus, I do not think it is inspired scripture. If you study how the Bible was formed, the original language texts and how the manuscript evidence leads back to the original author’s inspired words then this is not very controversial. The truth is that modern Bibles are much closer to the source documents because we have several whole lines of MS tradition that were unavailable to seventeenth century Anglican scholars under the employ of James I using mostly Roman Catholic sources. To be exact, they had Erasmus Greek text 2nd edition, the Latin Vulgate, the Tyndale Bible, etc. The Greek NT text by Erasmus was admittedly very rough! According to the author of my second year Greek textbook, Dan Wallace:
I respectfully disagree. Why do these scholars defend the fact that eclectic versions is basically empowering these scholars with a way that they “elect” what they (man) feels is the best wording; For example;
In Matthew chapter 18:22 Peter asks the Lord Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother. He says: “Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?”. The
Lord answers him in verse 22 “I say not unto thee, Until seven times;
but, Until SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN.”
This is the reading in all Greek texts. The single word “seventy times” (hebdomeekontakis) occurs only once in the entire New Testament and that is here.
The RV, ASV, Tyndale, Geneva, Young’s, Douay, Darby, RSV, NRSV, NASB, NKJV, ESV, and the Holman Christian Standard Version all read “seventy times seven”. However the NIV, the TNIV and Dan Wallaces NET version read: “I tell you not seven times, but SEVENTY SEVEN times.”
At least the KJV translator’s were able to realize that the entire Bible fits perfectly, and Jesus could have chosen any number at all, but by stating 70X7, doesn’t that ring with Daniel 9:24 when Gabriel stated
” seventy weeks”.
You see Jesus never stated a Word that was just full of dead air. When Jesus spoke “every word” carried weight with it. 70×7 locks in the text, and then the entire Word agrees with the 490 years. I am no Greek scholar, but I know enough to know that 77 and 490 are not the same.
Your post misses the point altogether… Just because you like 70×7 doesn’t mean that is what the original author meant to say, and your argument does not deal with the Greek text. “λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐ λέγω σοι ἕως ἑπτάκις ἀλλὰ ἕως ἑβδομηκοντάκις ἑπτά.” (Mt 18:22) The Greek term is ἑβδομηκοντάκιςa. ESV and NASB agree with 70 times 7 – the issue is how one translates this phrase and the reason Wallace and other scholars differ is that in Koine Greek we have examples of BOTH uses. There’s nothing special about the KJV with this passage.
60.77 ἑβδομηκοντάκιςb: seventy multiples of a quantity—‘seventy times.’ ἕως ἑβδομηκοντάκις ἑπτά ‘seventy times seven’ (a total of 490 times) Mt 18:22. One should not, however, interpret ἑβδομηκοντάκις ἑπτά as referring to a specific number, such as 490, but simply an unusually large number with symbolic significance of being totally adequate or complete.

Cris, Why are you not quoting from the King James Bible? You are using the ESV to contradict the authoritative KJV. I’m surprised at this. You cannot trust more recent translations. Refer to Pastor Michael Hoggard’s work on the KJV if you’d like to know the truth of the deliberate misreprentations in the ESV, NIV, and all other more recent translations.
Sorry but KJV is not an accurate translation and Textus Receptus is not an ancient Greek manuscript but the product of the Roman Catholic scholar Erasmus who only had a few very late Greek MS to compare. TR is basically the choices the Anglican scholars who rendered the KJV contrived into a Greek NT – it matches no ancient source. Mike Hoggard does not know what he is talking about, he cannot even read basic Greek.

I do not claim to always have the right answer but if I don’t know I will not pretend like I do. I will not make something up. This KJV issue is quite clear. I went to a conservative inerrancy affirming seminary at Liberty University and the position I am arguing is old news and accepted as fact. KJVonlyism is pretty much in the cult category these days but I know many sincere believers are still uninformed. I recommend James White’s book The King James Only Controversy: Can You Trust Modern Translations?

Jesus came not to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance. What’s a sinner to believe today? Does he know what Sheol is? (ask around in your local pub) Was it Shadrack, Meshack, Abendigo & Baal or Dagon in the fiery furnace? Is Phebe a servant or deacon? Was Joseph Christ’s father?
…..the list of confusion is greatly significant and huge! What is a sinner to believe? Why should anyone trust the “bible” anyhow? Should we trust the Vicar instead? Joe Smith? James White? Billy Graham? Where is a sinner to go?
You have to study hard to answer those questions.
The JW use the critical text, if you look at their bible, the Greek Interlinear N.T. on pages 8 through 9 we read about which text is used to create there corrupt New World Translation (the JW own version to support their false doctrines).
“The Greek Text : The Greek text that we have used as the basis for the New World Translation is the widely accepted Westcott and Hort text (1881), by reason of its acknowledge excellence. But he have also taken into consideration other texts,including those prepaired by D. Eberhard Nestle, and the spanish Jesuit Scholar Jose Maria Bover, and another Jesuit Scholar, A. Merle. Why do all of these bible companies continue to revise their bibles?? The ESV has come out with 3 updates in ten years, 2001, 07 & 12.

No the JW do not use the critical text (which is the Greek NA28) they use the New world translation which has readings that match no ancient Greek text, much like the Textus receptus (both are contrivances).

I suppose I personally know nothing of handling snakes or drinking poison. I don’t have a full grasp of healing either. Deliverance on the other hand, I understand better. I have been delivered myself and have delivered others through Jesus’ name.
I confess my understanding of the Scriptures that relate to this is lacking. I was surprised after being delivered that it was even possible in the first place that I was ‘demonized’ (oppressed? in bondage to? Is there a right term?) I was pretty sure that my Salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit precluded all such occurrence. I’ve sort of been playing catch-up trying to find doctrinal guidance on this. I would welcome your input very much.

I agree. It seems that most believers have a cartoonish concept of it in their heads too, so its not surprising they fail to take the subject seriously enough.
We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand. The days in which we live are solemn and important. The Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude.
The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.

Yes the scriptures say the war is not of the flesh and I have seen in my Vancouver neighbourhood possession manifest weekly on the street or in bars etc. The rise in demonic activity is scientifically engineered I believe in terms of not only the demons released, but poor food, electromagnetic waves of all kinds, hypnotic TV, and all of the things we know about which push humanity in each of us lower. I believe it is a combination which weakens us and is a process well advanced with the eugenic Satanic ruled world as the end game.

What’s missing from your article is the rise of demonic activity within the Church; the good side of evil. The demonic realm rides along on mans attempts to glorify self, even in his pursuit of God. Not every religion leads to Jesus and not every activity known to Christendom is of God.
I would add that the overt persecution and hatred of Christians is becoming more and more apparent. We see Christians ridiculed in America and beheaded in the Middle East.

Would you consider debating someone(perhaps Pastor David Lankford) on the merits of “Textus Receptus” versus the legitimacy of “Sinaiticus” and “Vaticanus’? If we dispute Mark 16:9-20, do we not also dispute the accuracy and legitimacy of the KJB being the word of God for millions of Christians over the past 400 years? Why would God Keep these Codex’s hidden away for nearly 2,000 years in the Vatican of all places? Egypt? Would it not be incredibly convenient for the dark side to have modern day Christians doubting the authority given to them by Jesus Christ found in Mark 19:9-20? Thank you. Im not really the right guy for that debate, Dr James White has already debated any KJV scholar who will accept and made examples out of them so there really is not a need for a debate on TR or KJV, it’s considered long settled in theology and biblical scholarship. KJV was great for its time but its time is well past.

I have this book but haven’t read it yet. I packed it because the demon infestation in my home is getting out of control. For the last few months they have really amped up their manifestations and I have commanded them to leave many times in the name of Jesus but they won’t go away. I even had Bill Bean do a phone deliverance on October 20, 2014 but it made it worse and they are still here manifesting their faces and figures all over this place. They have destroyed every ceiling, floor and walls in this place and I am becoming so obsessed with seeing thousands and thousands of demon faces in my place that manifest non-stop 24 hours a day especially on my bedroom and living room carpet, I am now starting to see them in my food which makes it difficult to even want to eat any more. Until something can be done, I am going to have to go on a liquid diet. I worry if eating the food with their demon faces on it is making me sick. I know this sounds bizarre but if you send me your email, I will send you many pics of their faces in this place. About a week ago, this huge gigantic demon head appeared on the living room ceiling above where I sit down on the couch. I do rent this place and have started packing but not sleeping at night due to noises up in the crawlspace attic and the horrendous demon smells that come around me at night when I am in bed makes it impossible to get much sleep so I don’t feel well or have much strength to do anything lately or go anywhere. I can’t get any help from anyone and I don’t know how much more I can take of this and I am a Christian but I have had to tone down anything with God in this place because otherwise the manifestations are too much and I am a senior who lives alone. Right now I feel forsaken by God and everyone and have reached out for help many times to little response. I am being stalked 24 hours a day wherever I go in this place because they know where to put their faces and eyes to torment the hell out of me. Yesterday, I listened to a show on Coasttocoastam about Exorcism & Possession by James D. Long and can I relate to what he is talking about. The date of the show is October 18, 2014. My landlord saw some of the pic and he couldn’t believe it and said he might need to burn this place down to the ground whenever I can find another place but being on disability won’t be easy and who would come in and help me move. I also worry if they would attach to me and I would be dealing with the same crap in another place. I wish God would come and take me home right now because this is shaking me to the core. I have seen white twinkling lights around here many times at night and Bill Bean told me that God sent his warrior angels to protect you and I have noticed that the noises up in the attic have quieted down but they are still here drawing in this place. It reminds me of a child who loves to draw on it’s parents floor and walls. Whatever is here has destroyed my finances, friends and family relationships, health, peace of mind, sleep and at times I think I am going crazy and that is their intention to destroy me in every way they can.
If you attend a local church invite 10 people from church and have a prayer meeting / acoustic guitar worship service at your house. If you’re not in a local church, we discovered part of your problem. Demons are like lions in that they will go after the strays from the pack who are alone and unprotected. “Be sober; be on the alert. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”(1 Pe 5:8) You need other believers to encourage you, hold you accountable, and pray for you. So find a church — attend it asap — don’t do this alone.
In the mean time, open my book and turn to the chapter on spiritual warfare, read it and see if anything I say helps you make sense of your situation.

Two weeks before Bill Bean, a well-known Christian Deliverance Minister did the phone deliverance I contacted a Four Square Church I was thinking of going to and I poured my heart and soul out to this woman on the phone and she thought I must have been crazy and was going to hurt myself and she called the police and 2 sheriff knocked on my door a few minutes later and wanted to take me away to a psych ward but I talked them out of it. I was so angry at her that I called her back and more or less told her where she could go. The only one who called me back was Father O’Bryan from St. Michael’s Parish in Olympia, WA and he told me before he could help me I would need a mental and physical evaluation. So I finally came across Bill Bean who was the only one that responded and tried to help. After Bill’s phone deliverance didn’t take much, I contacted about 10 to 15 churches for help in this and no one knew spiritual warfare or could care less. That just stirred up more anger in me and I also asked for help on Christian you tube video with little response. Either people don’t give a damn or the demons in this place are stopping all this from happening. After being rejected by so many Christians in my area and on you tube I would never step foot in any church in this area ever again because they don’t do what God’s word says. I have gone through so much in my life and I am still standing but barely. When you reach out for help many times and no help comes to you it hardens your heart and you don’t want to reach out any more. My next step is to contact The Olympian newspaper and tell my story and maybe someone might give a damn to help me. There was no noises last night so I was able to sleep better but they are still here because I see new drawings on the floors and walls. I have been asking God over and over again what is here, how many and how long have they been here and why????? I still haven’t received an answer.
I can’t give you a prophetic answer over the Internet, but what I can tell you is to completely disregard fear, anxiety, and worry. anxiety for instance is a spirit, what’s one reason why people have panic attacks.
Secondly, while the demonic crap may be contained within the house for whatever reason, their “right” to afflict you is a different matter. If leaving the house calms your mind.. then do leave the area to pray about the matter until you get some direction on what to do. –but running away from them will not fix anything. –you do have to cast them out, avoiding anything with God in it for fear of manifestations will only make matters worse.
That said, why the spirits are in that house is also partly your concern, but you may not be able to handle that information right now, and that information can or will be reviled to you by God, not man, i presume you might already have suspicions of where they came from. However, that information would be given to you on a need to know basis, and do not accuse anyone.
Also generally you should have some discernment on whether the spirit is residing in the house or inside your head. Cast them out in the name of Jesus Christ, but you also have to identify the sin that let them in and come to a point of repentance with God concerning that matter.
–my experience is God can be very harsh over a seemingly small matter.
Secondly, any spirit that speaks to you must utter 1 John 4:2 in its entirety “I confess Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.” there is no other test, and the name Jesus is not sufficient.. they must admit Jesus Christ (admitting that Jesus is the Christ) as well as confessing He came in the flesh.. anything under the sun can say Jesus is Lord for example, and there are other tests of spirits that have been invented that don’t work.

The KJV states;
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
What a contrast, one version has God questioning His resolve to rescue us, and the other is a statement of certainty, one in which God is not going to repent or change His mind in being the plague (or death) of death itself.
There are hundreds of discrepancies in “bibles” since the enemy has been attempting to destroy God’s Word (hath God said) since the beginning. However God did promise to “preserve” His Word (Ps. 12:7), so hence not only the doctrine of inspiration, but the doctrine of preservation. God is able to preserve what He has inspired! The discrepancies are due to students and scholars alike drifting from the ‘traditional text’, which is the preserved text (Ps. 12:7).
God stated that it was to the Jew that His oracles (Rm. 3:2) were given; hence the Jews even in the diaspora preserved God’s Word. It is a fact that More than 90% of extant manuscripts agree with the Traditional Text. This is the text which underlies the KJV. No other “version” can state this; they are all eclectic to some degree, meaning they consult other manuscripts during the translation that are supposedly older, and or better.

Every Christian should know this verse! it is easy, most know John 3:16, now just add 1 Timothy 3:16 to your arsenal of scriptures! The fact is that is that of 300 Greek manuscripts containing 1 Tim. 3:16, only five late manuscripts (9th, 12th, and 13th century) omit ‘God.” Did you get that? (This verse reads from the “received text” aka the Textus Receptus {the manuscripts exclusively used by the KJV} that ‘GOD was manifest in the flesh!’; It should not say ‘he’, but GOD. The manuscript evidence overwhelmingly supports the word ‘GOD’.)
1 Timothy 3:16 is one of the strongest versus in scripture attesting to the deity of Christ. By changing from a concise unambiguous title of “GOD” to a weak pronoun of “he” reduces a Christian frankly the same verbiage that the Jehovah’s Witnesses use. John Burgon in “The Revision Revised”, p.485-497, states that “God” (theos) is the correct reading because, and further states that “ Theos” (God) is the reading in 300 Greek manuscripts containing I Timothy 3:16. The traditional text contains the longer ending of Mark, also the research of Ivan Panin supports the longer ending of the book of Mark. The evidence can be seen on these links.

What you are doing is called circular reasoning… you quote the KJV and then quote a modern translation and critique differences with the KJV. But the KJV is what you are supposed to be arguing for, not assuming. In order to do that you need begin with how each renders the Greek into English and how accurate and true it is to the original language.
Also I could argue the same way with this passage:

The ESV affirms the deity of Christ much more explicitly than the KJV in Romans 9:5. But again, that proves nothing about which is a more accurate Bible version – that depends on source manuscripts, translation philosophy, and scholarship. Modern Bibles are closer to the words of the original authors than ever before in history. Why choose the work product of a few 17th century Anglicans over years of progress and archaeological finds by committed evangelical protestant scholars?
